Straight Line Challenge

The challenge this week over at the Sugar Nellie page on Facebook was the make a card with straight lines only.  I used Belle Flower from SUGAR NELLIE I thought I really should use some of my older stamps before the new release of sweetness on Thursday.  She is coloured with Promarkers, the dp is from my stash.  This is the first time I have done black hair and I have to say I am sure it will be the last time unless by some miracle I manage to get it right.

HELP FOR KRAFTY KAREN - PICTURE ADDED

Please could you spare a few minutes to read the post on Wendy's blog as she puts this so much better than I could.  Karen is a friend who is a very talented crafter, she has been going through a tough time over the past couple of years yet she always manages to stay cheerful and supportive of her crafting friends.  Maybe you could also pop over to Karen's blog and take a look at all her lovely work.  Thanks.

I have come back to this post with a little extra for you all.  I bought some of Karen's designs this morning and thought I would share it with you.  I haven't done it justice as there are more decoupage layers to be added but my hand and scissors just aren't compatible this morning.  I have added a little glitter as our Karen loves her glitter.

Retail Therapy

Yesterday was our 39th Wedding Anniversary and my lovely other half took me on a trip to Elgin to the home of  SUGAR NELLIE  among the purchases I made was this lovely image.  I have used her to transform a couple of very inexpensive note books, I am busy making items for my Christmas sales table and thought these would be ideal.

As usual I have used Promarkers to colour her, the papers are from my stash.

Where has the time gone

Afternoon all, I cannot believe how long it has been since my last post on here. It is a beautiful sunny afternoon here after a morning of rain, I hope we get more sunny days.  I have a very simple card to share today it is another one for the men in our lives.  The image is from LITTLE CLAIRE and the sentiment is from CREATE WITH TLC.  As usual I have coloured the image with Promarkers then edged it with Distress ink.  The card background has been stamped with the beer glass image from the stamp set again with Distress Ink.  I am off to sit in the sun to enjoy a nice cool drink.

Something for the Boys

I always struggle when it comes to making cards for Males.  I found these lovely stamps from Papermania on my trip to the Home of Sugar Nellie Yesterday and I think they fit the bill perfectly.  I stamped the image onto Kraft Cardstock, a bit of faux stitching some distress ink and voila.  So simple why didn't I think of it before, I think I will make a batch of these up as there are 6 stamps in the set.  It is a dull and rather chilly day here in the North East of Scotland - a perfect crafting day.

A Gift For Teacher

First of all I would like to say sorry to my blogging buddies for not commenting on all your lovely creations but I am having problems like many of us with blogger.
My grandaughter leaves Primary School at the end of this term so I have made her a gift for her teacher, I hope she likes what I have come up with.  I stamped Winking Student from SUGAR NELLIE  on a canvas then coloured her with Promarkers.  The wooden frame I have decoupatched, the sentiment is from CREATE WITH TLC  flowers are from my stash.  I must admit I felt a little sad making this as it doesn't seem very long since she had her first day at Primary School.

LESS IS MORE SENTIMENT

Morning all, the challenge over at SIMPLY LESS IS MORE this week is to make a one layer card where the sentiment is the focal point.  It has taken me all morning to work this one out, the images are from PAULETTE.  They are two seperate images I wanted to fade the Giraffe into the background with the sentiment on the top, after going through loads of copy paper I have printed it off onto 300gsm linen look cardstock and I hope I have acheived the desired effect.  I look forward to hearing what you all think of it.

Friday, 8 April 2011

Good afternoon, after a rather chilly start to our day the sun is now shining, I do hope it stays like this for the weekend.  The images used on todays card are from Woodware, the paper is called Up Up & Away from First Edition.  The flower is made using a punch and the cardstock I used for matting & Layering.  These are just some of the things I bought yesterday on my crafty shopping trip.  There are so many other things I should be doing but what the heck they will still be there tomorrow and who can resist playing with new stash lol.

LADYBUG LADYBUG

I just love this Digi image it was Friday Freebie over at Bugaboo Stamps  the sentiment which I think is just perfect is another freebie from the very generous and talented Paulette over at create with TLC.  I coloured the image with Prisma Pencils though I think a lot more practice is needed with these.

It has been a lovely warm sunny day here in the NE of Scotland - makes a nice change lol.  Hubby decided we should go out for the day and of course we ended up in one or two crafty places so I came home very happy.  I will spend this evening playing with my new goodies and who knows I may have something to show you tomorrow.

No Photos

Morning everyone, I have been busy making cards but unfortunately I dropped my camera and have broken it.  My lovely husband has ordered me a new one, I hope it arrives in time to photograph my entry for the LESS IS MORE  challenge.  It is a horrible damp dull morning here in our corner of NE Scotland  so I think a crafty day might be in order.  I will be back with photos as soon as I can.  I could use his camera but as it cost an arm and a leg and I am such a butterfingers I think It is best left in the case lol.

JOY

I thought I would have a try at decorating a box so this is my first attempt.  I just love this Simply Adorable Stamp and have used her a few times.  I bought an inexpensive wooden box and painted it with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint, I used Dusty Concord  and Picket Fence then gave it a light sand in a few places.  The flowers and Gingham Ribbon were found in my stash.

Friday, 14 January 2011

It has been another dark dull day here in our corner of NE Scotland, I am looking forward to spring and seeing all the shoots springing up in the garden.  My card today is made with a digi stamp I bought from Jak Heath for the Help For Katie fundraiser.  I have put a link on my side bar if you would like to take a look.  Once again I have used my Grand Calibur to make the card.  This is for a friend of mine who is having a tough time just now so I hope this will cheer her up or at least make her smile.

Wednesday, 12 January 2011

It has been so long since I last had time to blog.  I hope that you are all settling back into a routine after the festivities.  I am having great fun playing with the new range of Adorables both in rubber and digi available from FUNKY KITS a huge thanks to Karen at the House of Sugar for bringing these beauties to us.  For someone like me who struggles with shading these images are a dream come true.  I would like to share with you the first card I have done with one of the images she is called "JOY"  I was very lucky to get a Grand Calibur at Christmas so have used it to make the card itself.
